Every second counts when stabilizing life-threatening trauma cases. This course, taught by qualified nurses, prepares you with the knowledge, critical thinking skills and training needed to provide high-quality trauma nursing care. After completing this course, you will be able to properly assess patients and implement evidence- based interventions to improve outcomes for them.

Trauma Nursing Core Course

Full Course - RN

Registered Nurses

  • One and a half days of class time with virtual skill testing,  online written exam, and pre-course modules.

  • Ideal option for RNs taking the course for the first time.

  • 19.5 CE credits (approved through ANCC)

Renewal Course​​​​​​​

Registered Nurses

  • One day of class time with skills testing, online exam
    and pre-course modules

  • For registered nurses who have current provider verification (or expired less than 6 months) 

  • 13.75 CE's (approved through ANCC)

Course Challenge

Registered Nurses - Only recommended for RN's who have taken TNCC previously

  • No class time 

  • Online modules, Trauma Nursing Process test, and online written exam

  • For RN's with previous TNCC certification

  • 9 CE's (approved through ANCC)

Full Course - Non RN

Other Healthcare Professionals

  • One and a half days of instructor-led classroom time, skills testing, and required pre-course work

  • For healthcare professionals interested in trauma patient care who are not registered nurses

  • No provider verification is granted

  • 9 CE's and Certificate of Attendance for non-RNs

Online Modules Includes access to required online modules prior to the course date to let you learn at your own pace, apply what you learn, and receive immediate feedback. Modules include a step-by-step breakdown of the Trauma Nursing Process and a comprehensive study guide.

Live Virtual Class TNCC is typically delivered over one-and-a-half days. Live virtual learning includes skill teaching stations, group discussion and other interactive exercises.

Electronic Testing Virtual Trauma Nursing Process testing and electronic open-book testing enables you to test in an environment that makes you most comfortable. No more test anxiety!

Course Format

• Only registered nurses are eligible for provider status.


• Licensed practical nurses and paramedics are eligible to attend all portions of the course and obtain CNE hours, and will receive a certificate of completion rather than provider verification.
